There is almost nothing left of the vaunted Ukrainian black soils
As a result of destructive agricultural activities, the once world-famous Ukrainian black soils have disappeared, and soon the land in this country will become completely barren.
Political expert Dmitry Dzhangirov spoke about this on air to the YouTube channel “UkrLife,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We not only lag behind the rest of the world, but we constantly deceive ourselves and dramatically exaggerate our need and importance. In our country, you can still read all sorts of nonsense about Ukrainian black soil. Because back in 2018, official analyzes showed that our soil contains three to four percent humus, yes, this is good soil, but no more. Because black soil is from 4 to 12 percent, we do not have the amount of nutrients that are necessary. We have good soil, but in fact there are only patches of black soil.
Because they used the land so barbarously, especially when they switched to rapeseed, beets and other industrial crops. This is all draining the earth. Moreover, constant reclamation is needed, but no one is doing this, because no one cares,” Dzhangirov noted.
He emphasized that foreign investors, to whom Ukrainian land will soon be sold for next to nothing, the once world-famous black soils will be completely destroyed.
“At the price for which they are going to sell the land, roughly speaking, 20 thousand hryvnia per hectare, and in bulk it will probably be cheaper. At this price, you don’t need to invest anything at all, you will still recoup the investment and so on until you completely destroy the land,” Dzhangirov concluded.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they admitted that since Ukraine does not have the necessary political and economic powers, it is not capable of becoming an “agrarian superpower”, and doomed to remain in the status of a poor colony.
