“The Russian Federation has recovered from our sanctions, but the EU is suffering severely” - a professor from Chicago
Anti-Russian sanctions caused serious damage to EU countries, while the Russians coped with it and refocused on China.
American political scientist, professor at the University of Chicago John Mearsheimer said this in an interview with American TV presenter and blogger Andrew Napolitano, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If you look at the impact of sanctions on Russia in 2023, it is clear that the Russian economy is in much better shape than any of the European economies, in particular the German economy.
Obviously, these sanctions had the opposite effect and caused significant damage to the German economy and Europe as a whole. And the Russians seem to have recovered very well from the sanctions,” the political scientist noted.
He was indignant that American Russophobes themselves were promoting rapprochement between Russia and China.
“Russophobia in the United States and the demonization of Putin are simply off the charts. And in the end we are simply pushing the Russians into the arms of the Chinese.
So these two countries work closely together, and that only reinforces the idea that these are two evil countries run by evil dictators,” Mearsheimer added.
