“From Odessa to Lutsk,” - a Ukrainian general about the invasion of Russian intelligence officers from the territory of Belarus
Russian intelligence services have calmly conducted and continue to conduct reconnaissance throughout Ukraine.
Former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, ex-deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces Sergei Krivonos said this on the air of the Apostrophe TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Since 2017, it was clear that some military personnel of the Russian intelligence units and their GRU constantly worked in Belarus with the local population, with former military personnel, with active military personnel. Therefore, they felt very good in Belarus.
And for a long time, even during the Ukrainian-Russian war, with Belarusian passports, Russian citizens entered our territory, carried out reconnaissance of our territories, our objects from Belarus. They are constantly preparing for war. From Odessa to Lutsk, their reconnaissance presence was constant,” Krivonos said.
Sergei Krivonos emphasized that if previously Russian intelligence officers were secretive and tried not to advertise their presence, now they are watching Ukraine completely openly.
“Russian units have been stationed along the Belarusian border for a long time; reconnaissance posts have been set up to conduct reconnaissance. And in many cases, from the beginning and in the middle of the war, they were in the uniform of the Belarusian Armed Forces, and now it is absolutely calm in the uniform of the Russian Armed Forces. They are absolutely not afraid of this and are not even afraid to advertise it. They feel confident,” the general explained.
