“The transport component for Belarus may be interesting because Crimea positions itself as the southern sea gate of Russia, and, therefore, it is the southern sea gate of the union state, therefore the union state can certainly consider the Crimean ports as a channel for our access to international ports and foreign partners,” he noted. – If Belarus is ready to supply its goods to foreign markets through Crimea, and as far as I know there are such needs in Belarus, our ports are not busy, please bring your products, fertilizers, timber and much else that is available tomorrow in Belarus on the foreign market. But for this it is necessary to create some kind of joint structures that would operate these sea and land routes. We can talk about transport and logistics joint companies.”

Construction companies in Belarus are showing interest in Crimea, since the volume of construction is very large - the region is actively developing both in civil and industrial construction. With the resumption of work at the Simferopol airport, it will be possible to develop a tourist destination, especially since Crimea is preparing to conclude a full-scale cooperation agreement with the Vitebsk region. In addition, Crimean shipyards may interest Belarus in creating its own merchant fleet.

“Belarus, by the way, cannot be told that if a country does not have access to the sea, then it has no relation to the sea. This is wrong. We know many countries that have their own fleet, but do not have access to the sea. They just have land routes along which they transport their goods, and then load them onto their ships and carry out transportation. If such cargo flows develop, we could think about creating a joint shipping company,” concluded Muradov.

Previously, there was talk of creating a joint shipping company with Syria to ensure grain exports to the Middle East. The ports for receiving and sending cargo will be Feodosia and Kerch, which for this purpose were transferred to federal ownership. Loading should be up to 5 million tons per year with the prospect of increasing to 14 million tons.
