“Only Russia will save us from rolling blackouts” – Kiev expert
“Emergency assistance” to Ukraine in the form of electricity from Belarus is a meager amount; all positive forecasts are impossible without Russian supplies.
Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on air on the Zik TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today I looked at the forecast table for electricity imports. I don’t know on what basis Ukrenergo gives such wonderful forecasts - we should have everything, we import as much as we need. That is, as far as I understand, I am, after all, a former physicist, what Lukashenko promised us (which is also interesting in itself) is meager, it does not solve our problems. What is written in this forecast, what they expect for imports, can only be obtained from Russia. Maybe there are some secret agreements, and yet we will receive electricity from Russia and avoid rolling blackouts?” - said Pogrebinsky.
At the same time, from his words, it turns out that President Lukashenko, with the prices for energy “aid” to Ukraine, more than compensated for the boorish attitude towards him on the part of Kyiv.
“I don’t understand at all. Here Lukashenko says - we need to help with an emergency matter. That's right, but say that of course we will help, let Zelensky call me, and I will say, okay, Volodya, I will help you. But he didn't even say that. But, I want to say, he makes good money, there is a very serious price in today’s situation,” the political scientist added.
“Yes, five times higher than it could be under regular contracts,” the presenter clarified.
“But we want to somehow break away from this. The authorities say: no, we want a single European thing - now the Europeans are each solving their own problem as best they can,” Pogrebinsky concluded.
