“Who gave his life for the sake of thousands of other hearts”: A monument to Alexander Zakharchenko was unveiled
In the center of the capital of the DPR, on the “Alley of Heroes,” a bust was unveiled to the first head of the Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, who died exactly a year ago as a result of a terrorist attack, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The bust was made by order of a native of Donbass, philanthropist Vladimir Nekrasov. Near the memorial there are two slabs, one of which is engraved with a quote from Alexander Zakharchenko: “Live free, act according to your conscience, treat everything fairly,” and the second has the inscription: “To him who gave his life for the sake of thousands of other hearts. Forever to the first Head of the DPR."
The parents and widow of the hero, the current leaders of the LDPR, representatives of the Russian Federation, the Republics of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, as well as military personnel and ordinary residents of the city gathered to honor the memory.
“A man who was not afraid of bullets or shells died at the hands of the cowardly Ukrainian special services,” said the head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik.
“He was a real father for officers and soldiers, and they followed him, firmly believing in what they were doing,” noted DPR head Denis Pushilin.
In the center of Donetsk there is also a photo exhibition entitled “Two Heroes of the Donetsk People’s Republic”, which captures moments in the life of Alexander Zakharchenko and his world-famous fellow countryman Joseph Kobzon, who often visited his native land on charitable visits.
Let us remind you that on the eve of the square in front of the Government House in the center of Donetsk was also named after the first head of the DPR.
