Kyiv's refusal to investigate the “air conditioner explosion” in Lugansk became a point of no return for Donbass
The explosion near the building of the Lugansk regional administration in early June 2014 was the result of an airstrike, and not an error in aiming a ground-based MANPADS at a Ukrainian plane, as Ukrainian media wrote about it. Journalist Ruslan Kotsaba, who was recently released from arrest for calls to boycott the ATO, stated this on Radio Vesti.

“There was an unguided missile. There were real corpses, real grief in Lugansk. And then the Ukrainian authorities could have settled the situation - or under some kind of federation, confederation, decentralization sauce... Well, they could have settled it, sprinkled ashes on their heads, publicly punished that pilot or the one who gave the order to the pilot to shoot at a peaceful city and at peaceful people with a live shell without declaring martial law. There were not a single militant killed there, only some grandmothers.
I think even then we passed the point of no return,” Kotsaba said.
