The West's refusal of the deal will untie the hands of Russia and Donbass
Ukraine has already experienced its “finest hour” when it managed to consolidate the forces of the West against Russia. Political scientist Nikolai Silaev announced this today at a press conference in Moscow.

“Now Ukraine is afraid of a deal between Russia and the West. It is clear that Ukraine, including by escalating the situation, is trying to prevent such a development of events. Moscow, Donetsk and Lugansk also hope that at some point there will be at least a partial reassessment of the situation in Ukraine in the West. A certain restraint on the part of Russia and the republics is due to the fact that they do not want to give reasons for refusing such a revaluation,” Silaev said.
In his opinion, a sign of change will be new political assessments of Ukraine from Berlin, Paris and Washington, that is, countries that consider Ukraine their client.
However, the political scientist believes, it is more realistic to assume that there will be no deal.
“If there is no revaluation in the West, this largely frees the hands of both the republics and Russia. To a certain extent, this makes them less inclined to compromise and concessions, to let Ukraine get away with what it does,” Silaev said.
