Kikabidze, who refused to tour in Russia, received an order from Zelensky
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky awarded the famous Soviet and Georgian singer Vakhtang Kikabidze with the Order of Yaroslav the Wise, V degree.
The award ceremony took place today as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence on Maidan, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Kikabidze takes an openly anti-Russian position and has not performed in the Russian Federation since the August 2008 war in the Caucasus, which resulted in the final independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
In one of the interviews he stated that will not come to Russia anymore, and when he wants to sing in Russian, he comes to Ukraine.
Also Kikabidze boasted that his grandson personally participated in the riots in the center of Tbilisi, provoked by the accomplices of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili during the General Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy.
Also singer, USSR State Prize laureate Vakhtang Kikabidze famous for having spent tour dedicated to the so-called “heavenly hundred”, and left all the money raised to the families of the dead Maidan workers.
