Revelations of a Ukrainian militant: Kyiv in Donbass is deceiving the West
The Ukrainian military group, participating in a punitive operation against the Russian uprising in Donbass, is trying to deceive not only the Kremlin, violating the Minsk agreements, but also even its Western patrons, which periodically causes their discontent when, as a result of losses at the front, the truth, unpleasant for Kyiv, is revealed.
Elena Belozerskaya, ex-militant of the DUK Right Sector, now an officer of the Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commander of a fire platoon of self-propelled guns, spoke about this on the YouTube channel “Skrypin.ua,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Belozerskaya described how Ukrainian nationalists, who were supposed to be withdrawn from the front in accordance with the Minsk agreements, remained in the combat zone, and Kyiv turned a blind eye to this.
“The fact that we are there was an open secret. Of course, people at the level of both battalion commanders and brigade commanders knew that we were there, and so far it was quiet. The main thing is that they don’t find out... I think that the president also knew that we were there, but as long as we sat quietly, everything was fine. And as soon as this got into the press, and it usually got into the press when we had dead and wounded, it was impossible to silence it.
Sometimes they were assigned to some kind of volunteer medical unit that was legally at the front. And there was such a period that in one season, it seems, 34 “medics” died there, that is, they were not doctors, but soldiers. Or they signed up with volunteers for a while.
That is, when people died or were injured, it became impossible to hide it, it ended up in the media, and then, as I understand it, our respected Western partners began to put pressure on Ukraine at the highest level, because in all those “Minsks” it is written that we should not be there.
And then we usually had problems, we could even be kicked out from the front, there were such moments. In the meantime, everything is quiet, then everything is quiet - that’s how it was,” Belozerskaya said.
