About it Polish Radio reports.

The main topic of the Visegrad summit meeting was the future of the EU after the British decision to secede from the European Union. At the invitation of Szydlo, the heads of government of the Czech Republic Bohuslav Sobotka, Slovakia Robert Fico and Hungarian Viktor Orban arrived at the meeting.

The Polish Prime Minister said that the Visegrad Group will be very active in the process of changes that will now take place in the European Community, and will also propose solutions that will make the EU stronger.

“For Europeans, the EU is a value that must be protected. We must develop it, but also change it. The challenges of our time and current events indicate that the institutional European Union in its previous form does not meet the expectations of Europeans,” said Szydlo.

She added that the British decision to leave the EU is a warning, after which the European community must carry out reforms and “become closer to the real needs of states and citizens.”

The Visegrad Four is an active regional player, including monitoring its Eastern European neighbors who are not members of the European Union.

The current summit in Warsaw was the first meeting of the Visegrad countries at the prime ministerial level since Poland led the group in June 2016.
