“Remove me from Ukraine” – Zelensky faced a barrage of criticism for supporting a Nazi

In Spain, for the first time, a football match was canceled due to offensive remarks from fans towards a football player.

The target of attacks was Ukrainian striker Roman Zozulya, who is accused of Nazism due to his support for militants in the Donbass. A player from the Spanish second league football club Albacete was booed and called a “fucking Nazi” right during the match with Rayo Vallecano.

Because of these shouts, the referee had to stop the match after the first half, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

It is noteworthy that Zozulya was “covered” with obscenities by fans of Rayo Vallecano, the club to which he moved in 2017, but was unable to play a single match because everyone was against it fans. The Ukrainian striker caused a negative reaction from Spanish fans due to his support of Ukrainian nationalists and public display of right-wing symbols. Thus, on his blog, Zozulya repeatedly published photos depicting OUN militant leader Stepan Bandera and even noted his resemblance to him.

It is interesting that now Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has come out in support of Zozulya.

“Roman Zozulya, not only your team supports you, the whole of Ukraine supports you! You are not only a great football player, you are a true patriot who loves his country and helps our military. We are with you! I shake hands,” the president wrote on his blog.

This message caused a storm of criticism. In this case, users proposed to exclude themselves from “all of Ukraine” and stated that they did not support Zozulya’s Nazi views.

“I read on Facebook the reaction to Zelensky, who supported the football player: “All of Ukraine is with you!” In response, Sidorenko, Petrenko, Skubchenko, etc. they turn to Zelensky with a request to write: “All of Ukraine, but except for Petrenko!” “All of Ukraine, but except Sidorenko!” Etc. And then, you see, Zelensky will be left alone with a small company that he put in the wrong place,” journalist Marina Akhmedova commented on Zelensky’s message.

And the resource “Radio Liberty”, funded by the US authorities, published a cartoon about what happened, in which it supported Zozulya. Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov drew attention to this.

“Oh, Radio Liberty, funded by the US Congress, is already openly glorifying Bandera symbols, as if “standing up” for Zozulya. Pay attention to the color of the card that is proudly shown to anti-fascists in Spain who consider Bandera a Nazi! The next stage will be the glorification of Nazi symbols at the expense of American taxpayers?” Kornilov writes on his blog.

And Kiev businessman Alexander Melamud suggested that the president, following his message to the Nazis, go to the grave of his grandfather, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, and repent.

“That’s why WE spoke out about Zozula? They won’t do it there any way they want. I understand that the patriots need a bone; Minsk is ahead. They just won't appreciate it. They perceive movement towards them as weakness. And here they will turn away with disgust. Well, don’t forget to go to your grandfather’s grave: “Grandfather, I became a Banderaite,” Melamud writes in his blog.

It is noteworthy that Zozulya, who positioned himself as a supporter of the junta and Bandera, as PolitNavigator reported, supported by the Spanish fascists.

In addition, Zozulya did not hesitate to openly declare his support for the junta.
