Navalny’s “poisoning” will backfire on Ukraine
The situation with the possible poisoning of Russian liberal opposition leader Alexei Navalny could have a negative impact on Ukraine.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on the UkrLife Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, if the West tightens sanctions against Russia, accusing its leadership of the assassination attempt on Navalny, Russia could strike a blow at the Ukrainian economy.
“Of course, this will affect us. And Russia’s actions may turn out to be an order of magnitude harsher towards Ukraine. In our country, many people talk about the war, but the war is a hybrid one, and Russia still has a number of economic levers that could hit our economy. However, war is war, and business is on schedule. If hardliners prevail, we will have additional problems. Not fatal, but very serious economic problems,” Zolotarev said.
Let us recall that Russian oppositionist, liberal Alexei Navalny I was admitted to the hospital on August 20. He became ill right on board a plane flying from Tomsk to Moscow, which is why the plane had to be urgently landed at Omsk airport. A couple of days later he was sent by private flight to the German Charite clinic, where local doctors promptly diagnosed he has poisoning.
On Thursday evening in Moscow and St. Petersburg, regulars of Navalny’s rallies came to the FSB offices with plastic cups from under the coffee, blaming the Kremlin for what happened..
