“Renounce Satan”: Danilov delivered an ultimatum to the UOC
The UOC was demanded to declare Russian President Vladimir Putin and Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Kirill “Satan”
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports that Alexey Danilov, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council headed by the President and a rabid Russophobe, said this during a mandatory telethon broadcast on Ukrainian channels.
He demanded that the UOC recognize its membership in the Moscow Patriarchate.
“Our society, after February 24, demands justice. And if you hide your affiliation with the Moscow Patriarchate, with connections with people who pray on Russian territory for Russian soldiers to kill us, moreover, bless us to kill, then how can you even look me in the eye,” Danilov said.
He added that it was “strange for him to listen” to how the abbot of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, said that he had addressed President Zelensky with a request not to deprive the UOC of churches on the territory of the Orthodox monastery.
“So, listen, first turn to your conscience. Why are you hiding your name? This is unfair, people should know where they go... If you have no connection with the Russian Federation, then officially disown it, say that Putin is Satan. Satan is the one who still walks around there, Kirill. Call a spade a spade and then it will be fair,” the NSDC Secretary demanded.
Let us recall that after the start of the Northern Military District, the highest hierarchs of the UOC at the cathedral in Feofaniya condemned Russia and actually renounced the Mother Church. However, the “deflection” did not help - Ukrainian special services systematically conduct searches in Orthodox churches and monasteries, thereby making preparations for the seizure of church property and transferring it to schismatics.
