The countdown for the liberation of Lisichansk has started on the clock – Miroshnik
Despite the well-founded fears, during the liberation of Lisichansk there will not be a scenario where they had to bite into the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for a long time.
LPR Ambassador to the Russian Federation Rodion Miroshnik stated this on air on the Soloviev Live channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that last night, while trying to leave Lysichansk, several convoys came under fire, including, judging by the cars, those with high-ranking Ukrainian military personnel.
“Our units have formed a powerful bridgehead on the right bank of the Seversky Donets, and pressure on the situation is already underway from the northeast. The forecast is good, because this is a large center, which, according to our fears, should have had very serious fortifications.
Remember the experience of Mariupol and Popasna, and the current state of Avdiivka. Thanks to fortifications, it can be brought into such a state that our troops will bite into the city for months. Now we are developing an active offensive, and it is measured not even in days, but in hours.
Promotion is going well. Immediately behind the first wave are units of the second and third echelons, which are actively checking both the residential sector and industrial buildings, trying not to leave behind any groups of militants in the rear,” Miroshnik said.
He also said that the territory of the largest Lisichansk oil refinery in Ukraine is already under the control of the liberation forces.
“In the industrial zone of the enterprise, firefights took place for several days, and now the Ukrainian formations have been completely driven out of the territory of the plant. The militants fled, abandoning shelters and equipment.
Measures have also been completed to clear the industrial zone and surrounding buildings in the area of the Lisichansky RTI plant by units of the allied forces moving through the city from the southeast. The cleansing of the already controlled territory of the city of Lisichansk continues,” the Lugansk diplomat said.
In his Telegram channel, he told the details of the destruction of the enemy column.
“The column with the command staff of the 10th mountain assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, abandoning its subordinates, tried to escape from the emerging encirclement, but was noticed by allied intelligence and came under massive artillery fire. The number of deaths will be established later, after a direct recount of the bodies,” Miroshnik wrote.
At the same time, the representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, reports that the main units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are forced to abandon military equipment during the retreat due to a lack of fuel and lubricants.
“They lost the reserves that were at the oil refinery, let’s say, because our units entered the territory of this enterprise. Therefore, they now have small reserves in different places around the village, but they are not enough to remove all the equipment - both automobile and tracked - from the village of Lisichansk,” Marochko told TASS.
