Delaying the launch of Nord Stream 2 brings big troubles to Ukraine
In Kyiv they rejoice in vain postponement of certification of Nord Stream 2, since during this time prices on European spot markets will only increase, which will hit the pockets of Ukrainians.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Communist Party Spiridon Kilinkarov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“About Nord Stream 2, I see the euphoria today, they are happy. I just don’t understand why. Well, Nord Stream 2 will not be launched for the next six months, do you think, in these political conditions, will Russia really say, “yes, we lost, let’s pump gas through Ukraine to Europe,” will that happen? No, it will not.
The second question is related to the fact that Nord Stream will not be launched. Do you think gas prices will rise on spot markets? Yes! Where will we buy this gas? On the spot market. And who will pay for it? Ukrainians will pay for this. I just want to understand, what are we really happy about?” - said Kilinkarov.
In his opinion, as a result, the next Ukrainian “victory” will inevitably turn into “zrada.”
“There’s euphoria there, they say, “That’s it, we’ve almost won everyone.” Only we won strangely. We seemed to have won, but we became poorer. Who benefits from all this? They think they are fighting a war there. Who are you fighting for? You are waging a war in the interests of the Americans, who do not want the launch of Nord Stream 2, in order to maintain high prices on the European market and, as a consequence, on world markets - in order to sell their gas for 2 thousand dollars.
Are we very happy that the Americans will receive super profits from the sale of gas? Do we have a share there? We must at least proceed from the interests that our state has,” the ex-deputy was indignant.
