Shmygal’s resignation and discord among the “servants” will provoke early elections to the Rada
So far, there are no prerequisites to expect early elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Such a decision can be made only after the results of local elections become known.
Political scientist Kost Bondarenko told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.
“To hold early parliamentary elections, it is necessary that either the Servant of the People faction splits, or Shmygal is dismissed and a new candidate for prime minister is not submitted to the president for consideration.
But I don’t think there will be problems with this... or the Rada should not meet for 30 days, which, again, is very unlikely. Those who are now talking about the possibility of early parliamentary elections proceed from the fact that the president may be able to raise his authority in this way and create some kind of coalition with other political forces that will be more effective than the current mono-coalition.
So far, all this seems illusory. In any case, the decision to dissolve the Rada, if there is one, will be made based on the results of local elections,” the political scientist said.
