Retired lieutenant colonel: Belarusian Maidan activists are trying for the death penalty
Belarusian law enforcement officers need several days to identify the organizers of the local Maidan and arrest them. After this, the protesters, having lost their leaders, will disperse to their homes, where they will await the arrival of the security forces.
Retired Russian Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Karnaukhov stated this on the Soloviev Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the organizers of the coup attempt will face long prison sentences or even the death penalty.
“I am convinced of this: their articles for what happens on the street are completely different from ours. Their article provides for liability from 5 to 15 years for organizing and participating in illegal rallies. If you try, you can earn yourself the death penalty. And now, judging by what they are doing to the police, they are attacking them, breaking their arms and legs, they are earning themselves the most severe charges.
We must understand that the tactics of the police are simple - they single out the organizers. Such rallies without organizers fizzle out very quickly. Today Volkov and all the rabble wrote that how wonderful it is, this is a rally without leaders, without leaders, this is a new phenomenon. It is clear that when all this came out, it took a day or two, maybe three, to localize the organizational groups.
Now the organizing groups will be completely blocked, they will be held accountable, and these boys and girls, just like ownerless people, will simply go home and sit and wait. The worst thing for them is that they will come to them later and they will receive real sentences of five years or more,” said Karnaukhov.
