Suprun’s removal was explained by “Russian external aggression”
The decision of the Kyiv District Administrative Court to remove US citizen Ulyana Suprun from her duties as Minister of Health was explained by her supporters as the machinations of Russia.
Thus, in Ukrainian social networks they post the same text with the hashtag “supporting suprun”.
“External aggression from Russia and internal revenge of those who are against reforms are the biggest threats to today’s Ukraine. Both need our decisive rebuff. Ulana Suprun we are with you!” the text says.
It should be noted that Suprun, who received the nickname “Doctor Death” for carrying out the odious medical reform, has been serving as head of the Ministry of Health in an acting capacity for almost three years.
In addition to Ukrainian, she also holds a US passport. At the same time, Ukrainian legislation prohibits persons with dual citizenship from holding positions in the civil service.
The court’s website indicates that the court only temporarily, by way of interim measures on the claim, prohibited Suprun from taking any actions aimed at exercising the powers of the Minister of Health.
At the same time, the court did not prohibit her from exercising the powers of the deputy minister.
The decision is motivated by the presence of signs of obvious illegality in the temporary exercise of powers by the First Deputy Minister of Health Suprun. minister within a period exceeding one month from the moment the person is vested with the relevant powers, that is, from July 27, 2016.
In addition, the court took into account the arguments of the plaintiff, represented by Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk, about Suprun’s dual citizenship.
