“There is nowhere to retreat.” Victory Parade took place in Donetsk
In Donetsk, a military parade was held on the main street of the city in honor of the 76th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union over the Nazi invaders, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The events began with a solemn military parade, which thousands of city residents came to watch.
The parade was opened by a banner group of military personnel from the separate Kramatorsk Commandant Regiment, which brought in the State Flag of the Donetsk People's Republic and a copy of the legendary Victory Banner.

The event participants honored the memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence.
The solemn procession of troops was opened by a company of drummers from among the students of the Donetsk Military Lyceum named after twice Hero of the Soviet Union, pilot-cosmonaut, Lieutenant General Georgy Beregovoy. Along the main street passed squads of young men and women of the military-patriotic movement “Young Guard - Youth Army”, a parade squad of the first conscripts, crews of the DPR People’s Militia, cadets of the Donetsk Academy of Internal Affairs, a column of the Faculty of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the DPR, a parade squad of the Ministry of Civil Defense , emergency situations and disaster relief, cadets of the Academy of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR, columns of the Donetsk Combined Arms Command School.
Then a column of the “Immortal Regiment” marched along the central street of Donetsk, in which thousands of residents of the republic took part. The head of the Republic, Denis Pushilin, led the procession.
