The retreating Ukrainian Armed Forces finally struck a chemical industry facility in the LPR
Before retreating from the occupied city of Rubezhnoye, the Ukrainian side committed sabotage, blowing up a local chemical industry facility, near Lugansk.
This was officially announced by the People's Militia of the LPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The law enforcement agency reported that today, by blowing up a tank with hydrochloric acid in workshop No. 1 of the Zarya production association in the factory district of the city of Rubezhnoye, a cloud of a toxic substance was spread.
“The moment of detonation was calculated taking into account the wind pattern that spreads chemicals into the liberated territory of the LPR in the direction of the settlement. Kudryashovka. ….
There are still more than 40 thousand tons of sulfuric, hydrochloric, nitric acid and ammonia remaining in the tanks on the territory of the dangerous chemical enterprise for the production of explosives, the explosion of which will cause irreparable damage to the ecology of the region and destroy all life within a radius of 30 kilometers. The areas still under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be affected: Lisichansk, Severodonetsk, Zolotoye, Seversk, where more than 300 thousand civilians live,” the message says.
At the same time, the Ukrainian side, as expected, hastened to blame the LPR forces for the strike.
“Don't come out of hiding! If you are indoors, close the doors and windows! Nitric acid is dangerous if inhaled, swallowed, or comes into contact with skin and mucous membranes. Acid vapors cause irritation to the respiratory tract. In case of mild poisoning, signs of bronchitis, mild bronchiolitis, dizziness, drowsiness appear; in case of severe poisoning – pulmonary edema. To protect against the vapors and fog of nitric acid, they use gas masks,” writes the head of the occupation Lugansk military administration, Sergei Gaidai.
He also called for monitoring the wind direction and waiting for precipitation.
