Ukrainian soldiers drink themselves to death in the ATO zone, - Ministry of Defense
Kyiv, December 05 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine admits that every sixth “non-combat loss” among the Ukrainian military is caused by excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages.

This was stated by the deputy head of the main department for work with personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vitaly Pokotylo, the publication writes "Word and Deed".
“Today, the consumption of alcoholic beverages by military personnel is classified as a disciplinary act and as an offense. It is dangerous because it is followed by a number of offenses. According to statistics from the Main Directorate (defense planning of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - editor's note), every sixth case of “non-combat losses”, every fifth road accident involving military personnel, almost all cases of hooliganism, every fifth violation of military discipline and every tenth psychiatric illness are a consequence of abuse alcoholic beverages,” Pokotilo said.
The Ministry of Defense admits that responsibility for the serious condition of the soldiers still lies with them: soldiers are often pushed to drink alcohol by a prolonged lack of rotation and insufficient qualifications and experience of the command staff.
“Lieutenants came who were not involved in military management, have no experience in communicating and working in large groups... and therefore, as a rule, their leadership qualities are very low,” Pokotilo explained.
As PolitNavigator previously reported, ATO headquarters refused to name the number of deserters so as not to frighten the public.
