The absence of “enemy” Russian oil will affect ordinary Ukrainians
Prices for petroleum products on the Ukrainian market began to rise even before the restriction of supplies of petroleum products from Russia, and now this growth will accelerate.
Pavel Rudyakov, head of the Perspektiva information and analytical center, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The increase in prices for petroleum products has been happening since April, it began for other reasons, but now, due to the restriction of supplies by the Russian side, it has accelerated.
This affected diesel fuel and liquefied gas. The restrictions have not yet affected gasoline, but they will have an impact.
As a result, the end consumer will suffer. An increase in fuel prices will hit all goods, which will lead to an increase in all prices somewhere by mid-summer.
I think, in addition to rising prices, consumers will also face a shortage of certain petroleum products.
The Ukrainian government does not react in any way to what is happening. Since this government is about to leave, it is not taking any action even at the level of rhetoric.
Everyone sits and waits for everything to settle down on its own. And of course this can only happen through rising prices and a crisis.
There are proposals to purchase petroleum products from other countries, and this is possible, but since this means more complex logistics, it still means higher prices. And an increase in prices means a drop in people’s living standards,” Rudyakov concluded.
