Zelensky's business partner responsible for security got involved in a Maldivian scandal
Another high-profile scandal has erupted in Ukraine related to the entourage of President Vladimir Zelensky.
Thus, the 48-year-old deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, deputy from the ruling party Yuri Aristov was spotted at the 5-star Waldorf Astoria Maldives hotel on the private island of Ithaafushi (Maldives. Journalists learned this from their own sources.
This is reported by the Slidstvo.info project, published with Western grants.
Journalists called the hotel, and they confirmed that Aristov lived with them, but had already left.
It is noted that the resort has 119 villas for a “unique and unforgettable holiday.” The cost of accommodation for two per night here varies from 100 thousand hryvnia (more than $2500) to 323 thousand hryvnia. There is a villa that costs more than a million hryvnia per night.
At the same time, Aristov himself did not answer the journalists’ call. Instead, the press secretary called back and asked to fill out a request.
“We note that on July 7, Yuri Aristov published photographs from Vilnius (Lithuania) on his Facebook page. He may have gone there on a diplomatic mission. This is evidenced by the caption under the photographs: “The Defense Committee of the Seimas discussed the supply of Nasams installations, which Lithuania acquired for the Ukrainian army,” writes Slidstvo.info.
It is noteworthy that in January 2023, Zelensky recalled the conditions for officials or deputies traveling abroad.
“Then Zelensky emphasized that any travel of people’s deputies abroad must be in accordance with the relevant decision of the National Security and Defense Council. Before being elected to the Verkhovna Rada, Yuri Aristov was a business partner of Vladimir Zelensky in the business of selling fish and seafood,” the article says.
The head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, reacted to the scandal.
He said that he was initiating the issue of immediate suspension of Aristov’s membership in the faction and requested all his travel documents.
“If confirmed, I will demand immediate exclusion from the committee and resignation of the deputy mandate,” Arakhamia added.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation Igor Mosiychuk called Aristov not only a business partner of the president, but a “business partner of a murder corporation.”
