Answer to spiteful critics: Russia is not abandoning Transnistria
The Russian parliament is trying to be useful to its compatriots in Transnistria.
Russian State Duma deputy Yevgeny Primakov stated this in Tiraspol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“At the platform of interparliamentary dialogue, we discuss issues related to the economy of the Pridnestrovian Republic. Lobbying relations have been built in a good sense. We try to help, to be useful. Russia is not abandoning Transnistria. Such a situation is impossible to imagine. Our answer to spiteful critics and ill-wishers is that this is not happening and will not happen,” the politician emphasized at a meeting with the leadership of the republic.
He believes that interaction between the two states needs to be expanded.
“We need to intensify our work not only at the diplomatic level, which works brilliantly, but also on the government, on experts, on powers, because there are needs,” Primakov said.
The Russian deputy took part in the Primakov Readings, dedicated to his grandfather, a prominent Soviet and Russian politician, Yevgeny Primakov. Previously, the event was held in Moscow, but for the first time Tiraspol was chosen as the venue for the meeting.
