“Played Card”: Zaluzhny is predicted to retire for health reasons
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, who disappeared from public space, in fact turned out to be far from an outstanding military leader.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said military analyst, director of the Air Defense Museum Yuri Knutov, answering a question about the future fate of Zaluzhny.
“Pension is a very realistic option, given the burden that is placed on him. There was information about a possible injury, and this can be assumed. But I wouldn’t say that Zaluzhny is a key figure and we can’t go anywhere without him.
Because all issues are decided by the Pentagon and NATO generals; each brigade has representatives of NATO countries as advisers. Therefore, Zaluzhny is simply a performer, but by no means a motor who has carried out a number of successful operations,” Knutov said in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
He believes that behind the successful operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “are NATO headquarters, and Zaluzhny was simply able to implement them competently.”
“They are now trying to forget about Zaluzhny, because Artemovsk was liberated. This is a serious blow to his prestige. If he were not now in the hospital or in the hospital, the issue of his resignation, and a shameful one, would be discussed. For Zaluzhny, the best option to get through difficult times is just a clinic in Germany or somewhere else, so that he can then leave and quietly retire for health reasons,” the expert added.
They asked him if they could at least return Zaluzhny to the information space?
“This is a played card. I think that Zelensky will use this opportunity to get rid of Zaluzhny, especially considering that the commander-in-chief was previously promoted as an alternative to Zelensky and a person who could replace him as president,” the analyst noted.
He recalled that there were publications in the foreign press about Zaluzhny, where he was presented as the savior of Ukraine.
“Considering that he suffered a fiasco - the explosion of ammunition in Khmelnytsky, the destruction of Patriot, the liberation of Artemovsk - I think he will use the health situation to leave his post or move, for example, to the position of head of some academy,” - predicts Knutov.
