Russia doesn’t need Ovsyannikov: neither “United” nor “Fair”
The governor of Sevastopol, Dmitry Ovsyannikov, will be able to retain his post if he can ensure the passage of an overwhelmingly large United Russia faction into the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol, in which there will be no internal contradictions. However, judging by the behavior of the mayor, he does not believe in his capabilities.
Representative of the “Growth Party” of Sevastopol Oleg Nikolaev stated this on the YouTube channel “Forpost TV”.
In his opinion, State Duma deputy Dmitry Sablin, recently appointed secretary of United Russia in Sevastopol, could become the new governor.
“If Dmitry Vadimovich can form an obedient United Russia majority, then the next step, it seems to me, is logical to assume that he will be offered the post of governor.
And therefore, now a very interesting situation is developing again in Sevastopol, when the current governor Dmitry Vladimirovich Ovsyannikov meets with the leader of the Just Russia and tries...” said Nikolaev.
He recalled how the first governor of Sevastopol, Sergei Menyailo, supported opposition parties in 2014, because half of the United Russia list was given to the team of Alexei Chaly, who was in conflict with him.
However, the representative of A Just Russia in Sevastopol, Evgeny Dubovik, ruled out the possibility of cooperation with the current governor.
“Yes, we have our own people on the list! Members of A Just Russia. We have enough people. Yesterday we held our political council. They nominated their own candidate for the conference. The Political Council voted for me. It is quite possible that another candidate will come from Moscow. This is normal in Russia. This is normal practice,” Dubovik said.
