Ovsyannikov finally lost to Altabaeva
The Sevastopol City Court did not satisfy the appeal of the city governor Dmitry Ovsyannikov against the decision in the claim against the chairman of the local Legislative Assembly Ekaterina Altabaeva.
This was reported by the Sevastopol TV channel NTS.
Thus, Dmitry Ovsyannikov decided to drink the cup of public humiliation to the end and finally earn the title of loser.
After losing the claim in the court of first instance, the Governor of Sevastopol was persuaded to hush up the absurd conflict by the Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and the Secretary of the General Council of United Russia Andrei Turchak.
The admonitions were heeded not by the governor, but by the city court, which in August postponed the hearing and invited the parties to enter into a settlement agreement. However, Ovsyannikov did not withdraw his claim, although it was obvious that he would lose it: at that time, the court had already rejected another far-fetched claim against Altabaeva – from the head of the Sevastopol organization “United Russia” Boris Kolesnikov.
“I received a draft settlement agreement, a reconciliation agreement, a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, in essence, the content of this agreement provided for the recognition of the claim. Therefore, naturally, under such conditions, especially in a situation where the chairman of the Legislative Assembly won the first instance, it would be at least illogical, at most strange, to sign such an agreement,” said Elena Bliznyuk, head of the legal department of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol.
As Politnavigator previously reported, Ovsyannikov tried to blame the speaker for not convening an extraordinary meeting of the Legislative Assembly at his request. However, the issues proposed by the governor were considered at the next meeting.
