The executioner of Yugoslavia advises the US to rely on Vucic’s enemies in Serbia
Clinton Administration Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said that the United States has economic and diplomatic tools to influence Serbia.
The ex-official stated this at a hearing in the Foreign Policy Committee of the US House of Representatives, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In response to a question about how the United States can regain a significant role and influence in the Western Balkans, especially when it comes to negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, Albright said that the new US administration should keep in mind that “not everyone in Serbia agrees” with the policies and actions of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic."
“An important part of our job is to send a clear signal to these people that they will not be able to become part of the EU if the country continues to do what it does, the way it does it,” the former secretary of state said. – The United States will have to show what it expects from Serbian-American relations.
We must understand that there are forces in Serbia that want better relations with the United States. Not everything in Serbia is negative. They want to be treated differently, and we have the economic and diplomatic tools to influence that."
Let us recall that as Secretary of State, Albright personally selected targets for NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. And in 2012, when in Prague at the presentation of her book “Prague Winter” to the old womanhave arrived activists from the local society “Friends of Kosovo Serbs” asked them to sign photos with portraits of killed Kosovo Serbs, she began yelling at them: “Vile Serbs, get out!”
