Similar proposals were made by the Bar Council of the Odessa Region.
As one of the leaders of the movement, Oleg Spinu, said in a comment to reporters, a sculptor and an architect will be found in the near future, and the organizing committee of the initiative will search for them. Activists are also going to hold negotiations with local authorities on this issue.
“Novodvorskaya is a Russian woman with a Ukrainian heart, a person who sincerely supported Ukraine in its quest for independence and democracy. Taking into account the fact that in her homeland the memory of Valeria Ilyinichna is unlikely to be immortalized in the coming years, I am sure that Ukraine should do this. Odessa is a great option,” the activist noted.

As Navigator reported, journalist, politician, and dissident in the Soviet past, Valeria Novodvorskaya died on July 12, 2014. Being a Russian woman, she advocated depriving people of illiberal beliefs of the right to vote, and for the territorial disintegration of the Russian state.
