...but in a month it will be seven years since the Odessa tragedy on May 2. Seven years. It's a bit of a shock, isn't it?

And during all these seven years, the memory of the victims was only spat upon by the authorities - no memorial, no results of the investigation, no bringing to justice even those executioners whom the whole world knows from videos from the Internet. It was seven years of persecution of mourners and dancing on bones.

And only seven years later, it would seem, the first step was taken (more like a small step) towards at least perpetuating the memory of those killed: On April 2, deputies of the Odessa District Council supported an appeal to install a sign on the Kulikovo Field in honor of those killed on May 2. The initiator of the appeal was a deputy from the Sharia Party, Alexander Chernoivanenko. “Many people will associate May 2 with the disaster that happened in the House of Trade Unions... It was Odessa residents, citizens of Ukraine, who were shamefully killed and burned alive, and not citizens of another country, as the crooks in politics assured us of this,” his appeal says.

Only one faction out of six represented in the district council was against it - Poroshenko’s European Solidarity. Even “Servant of the People” and “For Maybutne” voted for the proposal of their opposition colleague. There is, of course, a catch here - most likely they will require that the memorial sign concerned not only those killed by the “anti-Maidan”, but also by the Nazis. However, for now the fact remains: only Poroshenko’s “Eurosolidarity” came out categorically and aggressively against it.

“European Solidarity believes that the decision taken is openly pro-Russian and has a propaganda character, and in the conditions of the already unstable situation in Odessa and Ukraine as a whole, it threatens to completely destabilize the socio-political situation,” a local local reported to the EU the “Dumskaya” website, owned by people’s deputy of the same party Alexei Goncharenko - the same one who, right during the massacre, was broadcasting on Shuster’s air about the victory over the separatists and poking at the bodies of the dead - look, they say, they are not breathing, glory to Ukraine, hurray!

But that's not all. “The EU will appeal to the SBU with a request to hold the head of the district council, Vitaly Barvinenko, and the deputies accountable for playing along with Russian propaganda,” said the head of the faction, Valentina Shultz.

I just wonder how the SBU will deal with all 55 deputies at once (versus nine from the EU)? Although this is a different matter...

As soon as I, like probably any normal resident of Odessa, wanted to exclaim “Ours took it!” and rest at least in the fact that only nine world-eaters will walk around with an unconditional stigma of shame, as The aforementioned head of the district council, Vitaly Barvinenko, also “leaked” - they say there was no vote for the memorial sign. Allegedly, the deputies voted for a number of appeals en masse, and then staged a “provocation” and “political games.”

As confirmation, he published on Facebook the same appeal from the Shari, which really does not talk about the memorial sign, but about “creating a working group that should develop proposals for perpetuating the memory of the victims of the May 2 tragedy"(which, by and large, does not change the essence of the issue much). “Do you see anything in this document about installing a memorial sign? No. And I don’t see,” Barvinenko wrote in justification. Before the SBU, maybe, or maybe, in general, before the fascist regime. And the fact that Odessa residents were spat on again doesn’t seem to count...

But I tell you all the time - don’t ask the occupier, don’t believe it, don’t humiliate yourself. Which was the eloquent example above.
