Pan-Albanian party of Kosovar Kurti intends to go to elections in Albania
Inspired by the victory in Kosovo, the pan-Albanian Self-Determination movement announced its participation in the parliamentary elections in Albania.
True, the participation of the Kosovo movement will be relatively modest; it is nominating only three candidates, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Kosovo Self-Determination Movement, with pan-Albanian ambitions, intends to field three candidates in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Albania, which will be held on April 25: Boyken Abazi, Iliaz Shehu and Kreshnik Merjani. Thus, experts believe that for the first time Kurti intends to seriously declare himself at the Albanian level.
Boyken Abazi collected signatures,” commented the press secretary of this political force, Arlind Mandzhuka, on Self-Determination’s readiness for elections. “Shehu and Merjani are still in the process of collecting signatures.”
Ex-militant, head of a criminal clan and leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, who lost the parliamentary elections and said goodbye to the prospect of becoming the “president” of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, criticized Albin Kurti’s intention to get involved in the politics of neighboring Albania.
“I believe that there is no reason to rush to participate in the parliamentary elections in Albania, and I am afraid that, if not the participants in these elections, then others will consider this a trick and an opportunity to resume the old scenarios of division (Kosovo into the Serbian north and Albanian south - ed.) . This can also be seen as a kind of failure to promote the integral integration of the north of the country,” added Haradinaj, condemning the exclusively Albanian “Self-Determination” agenda.
