The Pope wants to blow out the “winds of war” over Ukraine
In the Vatican, on the occasion of today’s Catholic Christmas, Pope Francis joined the Ukrainians in the Prayer of Peace for the “dear Ukrainian land” in St. Peter’s Cathedral, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

During Sunday's Angelus of the Lord prayer, Pope Francis congratulated the several thousand Ukrainian community that was present in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.
In his message, the head of the Catholic Church called for prayer for peace and making efforts to achieve it.
“Today, when the winds of war are blowing over the world, and the model of development is no longer relevant and in the future gives rise to universal, social and environmental degradation, Christmas again returns us to the sign of the Child, invites us to recognize Him in the faces of children,” Pope Francis said, remembering the inhabitants countries where conflicts continue, in particular, the Holy Land, the Middle East, a number of African countries, Venezuela and Ukraine.
