Parade in Sevastopol: Photos of heroes of New Russia appeared next to portraits of Great Patriotic War veterans
I have already come to Sevastopol on May 9 several times. The celebration of Victory Day here always evokes admiration and admiration. Not only the military parade, the passage of armored vehicles, and the grandiose performance of the combined military orchestra decorate the holiday. The main thing in Sevastopol is the Sevastopol residents themselves. On Victory Day, they become real Citizens of their vast and powerful country - Russia.
Special care goes to veterans. They were brought, taken to places of honor, and seated. And after all the events they were taken home. Hundreds of people wanted to take pictures and at least somehow communicate with dear old people, of whom there are fewer and fewer every year.
The years take their toll, but the memory of their Feat lives on. And this was shown today by the Immortal Regiment, which exceeded all expectations - several tens of thousands of people came out with portraits of their relatives and friends.
A special feature of the procession in Sevastopol was the appearance of portraits of those killed in Donbass. Participants in the war for Novorossiya carried photographs of Givi, Motorola, Dremov, and Mozgovoy. By the way, I also knew the commander of the “Ghost”, so I also joined the “Immortal Regiment” with a portrait of Alexei.
I met a woman, Lizaveta, who had on her clothes, along with the St. George’s ribbon, a blue-yellow ribbon matching the color of the Ukrainian national flag. Lizaveta explained that her dad Mikhail Filippovich is Ukrainian, but he participated in both the defense of Sevastopol and the defense of Kuban. Therefore, in this way she wanted to emphasize that people of many nationalities took part in the Great Victory. And none of the thousands of people even looked askance in her direction.
And for the first time in Sevastopol, a women’s company took part in the military parade today. These are 70 beauties who have small children - from one to three. The commander of this unit told me about this before the start of the parade.
In 1945, soldiers of the Red Army reached the Reichstag and won Victory precisely for their sake - their wives and daughters.
