The parade in Sevastopol attracted 600 thousand spectators
The 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was celebrated in Sevastopol with a military parade of land, naval and air forces. The city authorities call an unprecedented figure for the number of spectators who gathered in the city center to see the anniversary Victory Parade with their own eyes - 600 thousand.

Even on the eve of the solemn event, the city authorities announced this figure, of which at least 200 thousand were only visitors from other countries and regions of Russia. The rest are local residents. The entire city center was blocked off and packed to capacity with people. The most convenient viewing spots for the sea and land parts of the Parade began to be occupied early in the morning. By the time the program starts at 9 am, it is no longer possible to find a free place to comfortably watch what is happening. People literally crawled onto the walls of buildings.
The celebrations opened with a naval parade led by the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the missile cruiser Moskva. Also lined up were the large landing ships Yamal and Nikolai Filchenkov, the Bora hovercraft and about 10 other naval vessels.
The sea part was replaced by the air part. 28 aircraft flew in the sky above Nakhimov Square in Sevastopol Bay: naval aviation aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet and helicopters of the Air Force of the Southern Military District, including the super-maneuverable Su-30 SM fighters and the latest Su-27.
The land parade began with the carrying out of the Victory Banner - an exact copy of the original banner. After the commander-in-chief of the Black Sea Fleet, Alexander Vitko, toured the ground units, a live broadcast of the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin was shown on the main screen of the city. At its end, citizens and guests of the city burst into jubilant shouts of “Hurray!” and “Russia!”
After this, the Parade itself began. Along the streets filled with masses of people, ground troops with a total number of 1400 people marched in formation.
This was followed by modern military equipment, among which special attention was focused on the S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems and the Pantsir-S missile and gun system. A total of 32 units of military equipment took part in the Parade. After that, retro wartime equipment rode in parade formation, and bikers from the Night Wolves motorcycle club brought up the rear.
At the end of the main part of the Parade, a festive procession began, led by veterans. They were followed by two thousand townspeople as part of the “Immortal Regiment” campaign with photographs of relatives who died during the Great Patriotic War. The procession was closed by public organizations - representatives of Self-Defense and Cossacks, “Russian Bloc” and “Russian Community of Sevastopol”.
At the end of the Parade, everyone had the opportunity to visit the sailing ship “Kruzenshtern” and several modern warships moored near the Marine Station.
At this time, on the streets of the city, veterans continued to accept congratulations, willingly taking pictures with young people and children.
