Maidan paradox: Unlike revolutions of the past, there are no outstanding works of art (VIDEO)
Kyiv, January 18 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – Maidan, unlike revolutions of the past, did not lead to the emergence of high examples in the cultural sphere of Ukraine.
The director of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bonadarenko, said this at a press conference in Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, commenting on the proposal of the former Minister of Social Policy under Yushchenko, and now the Minister of Culture, Vyacheslav Kirilenko, on the need to demolish monuments of the Soviet era.

The expert noted that, unlike revolutions of the past, after the Maidan there was no surge in cultural passionarity.
“No things have been created that even lay claim to the status of masterpieces in literature or cinema,” noted the Ukrainian political scientist. – There are several cinematic discoveries, but work on them began before the Maidan. This is one of the indicators, by the way. Pay attention to any revolution, from the French or English of the XNUMXth century through the revolutions of the XNUMXth century, that each of them led to a revolution in culture.”
The director of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation is skeptical about the professionalism of the current head of the Ministry of Culture.
“I don’t know what Kirilenko has to do with culture,” says Kost Bondarenko. – I don’t know what relation he had to the social sphere in 2005. Since there is no constructive program for reforming the cultural industry, it simply leads to destruction. There are a number of people who can be called anti-Midas. For this king, everything he touched turned to gold. For anti-Midas, everything they touch turns into the opposite of gold. Kirilenko, judging by the social policy of 2005 and the cultural policy of 2015, is an anti-Midas.”
