Zelensky’s Paris voyage did not bring the end of the war in Donbass one step closer – Pogrebinsky
The position of the Ukrainian side, with which it came to the Normandy Four meeting in Paris, does not allow us to count on a settlement of the conflict in Donbass.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert emphasized that current President Vladimir Zelensky continues the policy of his predecessor Petro Poroshenko.
“Is there progress on the path of peace? My answer is ambiguous. If we are talking about whether any steps have been taken that will reduce the likelihood of shelling, they will.
I believe in this because the issue of withdrawal at three more points will be resolved, but again, this allows us to hope that shooting at these points will also stop and people will not die.
But this is not radical, there are a lot of such points there, that is, this is not a world in the global sense of the word.
On the most important point, I would even put it this way: do you think that the meeting that took place brought us closer to resolving the conflict in the east of the country?
Here I want to say – no, I haven’t brought it one step closer.
Because the views of Zelensky’s team are radically different, which practically do not differ at all from the views of Poroshenko’s team, which is why they said that everything is fine, there is no harm.
And if so, then you cannot count on the Minsk Agreements moving along this path,” Pogrebinsky said.
