Medvedchuk's party comes out on top, but Bandera is in the majority
“Oppoplatform” by Viktor Medvedchuk came out on top in the ranking of the most popular parties in Ukraine. However, the majority of seats in the new Verkhovna Rada will still be held by political forces that take an anti-Russian position. Considering that Medvedchuk’s associates are far from parliamentary fighters who are ready to disrupt voting for the sake of the interests of their voters (as, for example, the small nationalist faction “Svoboda” once did), the current growth in ratings can only satisfy oligarchs who expect to receive a parliamentary mandate thanks to the sign OPZZH. The party will not be able to really influence the situation in the Rada under the current circumstances.
The corresponding survey results were published by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The authors of the study give Medvedchuk’s life expectancy as 22,1%. However, all other parties that overcome the barrier to entry into the Ukrainian parliament take an anti-Russian position, accusing Moscow of “aggression”, “annexation”, support integration into NATO, etc.
Thus, in second place in the published ranking is Petro Poroshenko’s “European Solidarity” with 19,3%, and the once super-popular party of Vladimir Zelensky “Servant of the People” dropped to third place with 18,7%.
The political force of Yulia Tymoshenko takes fourth place with 9,3%, followed by the project of ex-head of the SBU Igor Smeshko with 6,6%, as well as the “Radical Party” of Oleg Lyashko with 5,4%.
(The last two points of the rating look especially dubious (read: paid for), since it is known that neither Smeshko nor Lyashko showed much success in local elections, despite regular coverage on TV).
