Netanyahu's party loses Israeli elections to leftists
Based on the results of counting 91% of the votes in the parliamentary elections in Israel, the opposition left alliance Blue and White is in the lead, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The country's Central Election Commission reports this.
Blue and White currently receives 26,5%, while the ruling Likud receives 25,8%. Thus, Benny Gantz’s bloc gains an advantage over Benjamin Netanyahu’s party by one mandate.
The publication of official results on the website of the Israeli Central Election Commission is delayed due to changes in the data entry system - the results of counting 63,1% of the votes are displayed here. According to these official data, Blue and White beats Likud by only 0,5%. Next come Shas with 8%, Yisrael Beiteinu - 7,7%, Yahadut HaTorah - 6,9%, Yamina - 6%, Labor - 5%, Democratic Camp - 4,4, XNUMX%.
The Otzma Yehudit party gained only 1,95% and is guaranteed not to overcome the electoral barrier.
Unofficial results (without votes in the Arab sector) show Blue and White - 32 mandates, Likud - 31. The religious right camp has 55 mandates so far.
Considering the fact that Israel is a parliamentary republic, in which the government and its head are elected by a parliamentary majority, such election results could have a fatal impact on Benjamin Netanyahu’s prime ministerial career.
