Ukrainian political expert Mikhail Pavliv pointed out this fact during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The president’s party, despite all the antics and attempts at wishful thinking on the part of Yuriy Lutsenko, suffered a catastrophic defeat,” the expert believes. – Never in the history of Ukraine has a presidential party been so unsuccessful in local elections. Probably, the president solved strategic problems in forming some kind of consensus with financial and industrial groups, but as a political force, the Solidarity BPP lost these elections.”
“Yes, they entered many councils, taking first places in a number of places,” the political scientist clarifies. – But what are the first places? 15, 20, 21 percent. Previously, large presidential parties in their regions took 30–50 percent. “Solidarity” did not even come close to these results. The president will become one of many players and will not be able to form his own councils even in half of the country’s regions.”
