Poroshenko’s party demands that Europe abandon Nord Stream 2
All factions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine must sign an appeal to the European parliaments calling on them to take the side of Kyiv and prevent the construction of gas pipelines bypassing its territory, in particular Nord Stream 2.
This was stated at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of faction leaders and chairmen of committees of the Verkhovna Rada, member of the Fuel and Energy Complex Committee Olga Belkova from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc.

“Our faction has already transformed its concern about this issue into a resolution on the appeal. I propose that all heads of factions take a consolidated approach to this issue. This is a political call to the countries of Europe, in which we declare that Ukraine is consistent in terms of energy reforms, and we expect that European countries will stand on the side of Ukraine and will not allow Russia to manipulate gas issues and build all sorts of “streams” abroad already existing thread (Obviously, by this Belkova means the current transit through Ukraine), which is the most economically beneficial for all consumers in Europe,” said the Ukrainian deputy.
