Zelensky's party rejected direct negotiations with the LDPR
The new Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will not enter into direct negotiations with representatives of the DPR and LPR, although they were initially provided for by the Minsk agreements.
This was stated on the NewsOne TV channel by the former head of his election headquarters, and now the head of the Servant of the People party, Dmitry Razumkov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Razumkov, all Ukrainian decisions on Donbass will be developed within the framework of the Normandy format, and Zelensky is also going to expand it at the expense of the United States and Great Britain.
“If we are talking about a meeting with the so-called LPR/DPR, then we need to meet with those who can make decisions. I think that on global processes - we do not take the Minsk format, in which representatives of Ukraine and representatives of the so-called LPR/DPR meet, they do not influence this process globally...
We have talked about this more than once, that we see further development of the situation related to the movement towards peace and a ceasefire - this is the Normandy format, perhaps, if it works out, we are very committed to this and will offer this format to our foreign partners, expand it over US and UK support account.
Plus, these two states are signatories of the “Budapest Memorandum”. The consolidation of all these efforts on the basis of Normandy will make it possible to more effectively influence this process. The form of behavior of both ours and our allies will be developed there,” Razumkov said.
Thank you!
