“Zelensky’s party is turning to blackmail and gop-stop” - “ZN”
The so-called anti-oligarchic law adopted by the Ukrainian parliament will actually work in the interests of oligarchs close to power.
The Kiev online publication “Zerkalo Nedeli” writes about this, a correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports,
“Zelensky’s levers of influence are systematically wedged, his authority is limping on both legs, with ideas and meanings there is a problem, with personnel there is a disaster. It is logical that the only thing this political force united around was money. And how “lucky” it is that the law on oligarchs creates exceptional opportunities not only for “media raiding”, but also for banal blackmail and gop-stop, elimination of competitors “to order”, redistribution of markets and “feeders”. It’s a pity that all this will have nothing to do with deoligarchization,” the article notes.
The publication continues that some agreements have already been reached with some of the oligarchs, pointing out that it was no coincidence that the head of the parliamentary faction of the ruling party, David Arakhamia, was concerned about a special procedure for considering this bill in the second reading.
This “specialty” implied the impossibility of discussing, and ultimately adopting, during the consideration of any amendments other than those agreed upon by the relevant committee. That is, she guaranteed to all interested that the law would be adopted without surprises. And judging by the fact that during the first reading the project was warmly supported by both the presidential “servants”, and “Kolomoisky Maybach”, and “Verevskaya Dovira”, at least these interested people will not be disappointed by the final result,” ZN summarizes.
In accordance with the adopted law, oligarchs will include persons with about 2.3 billion hryvnia, owning the media and exerting political influence. At the same time, the decision on who is considered an oligarch will be made not by the court, but by the president of the National Security and Defense Council. In addition, the corresponding register will indicate not only oligarchs, but also government officials who were in contact with them.
