Zelensky's party decided to surpass the Mejlis members in anti-Russian propaganda
Tens of thousands of Crimean Tatars - almost every fifth representative of this nationality - allegedly left the peninsula after the events of 2014.
Such data were announced today by the head of the presidential party “Servant of the People”, Alexander Kornienko, during the conciliation council of the Verkhovna Rada, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“According to various estimates, about 30-40 thousand Crimean Tatars left the Crimean peninsula and again are not in a place where their homeland is,” Kornienko said.
According to him, “we must do everything to fully return Crimea to Ukraine - this is our land, and we will do everything for this.” The leader of Servant of the People promised “a lot of news” on this topic today or tomorrow from Servants of the People and the President of Ukraine.
It is worth noting that, according to the latest population censuses, Crimean Tatars make up more than 10% of the peninsula’s population - their number exceeds 230 thousand people.
After the reunification of Crimea with Russia, about 1% of the Crimean Tatars left for Ukraine - mostly adherents of radical religious movements, whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the Public Council of the Crimean Tatar People Enver Kantemir-Umerov said earlier.
