The most popular profession in Ukraine remains reading Putin’s thoughts from a distance. Ukrainians did this in the spring of the outgoing year, resumed their telepathic exercises in the fall and continue to wonder what is in Putin’s head on the eve of the new 2022.

If anything, the conclusion is not mine. This was stated the other day by the author of the oldest Kyiv grant-eating publication “Ukrainskaya Pravda” in a column with the remarkable title “Putin at the Gates.”

Additional fuel is thrown into the fire of militaristic hysteria either by the Ministry of Defense, which noted that “the occupiers continue to concentrate tanks near the demarcation line in Donbass,” or by the SBU, which reports on preventing “the transfer of secret data on the air defense of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.” And if both the Ministry of Defense and the SBU are silent, then Danilov and Arestovich share fresh portions of horror stories with the masses.

However, the love of Svidomo Ukrainians for self-fulfilling prophecies is no secret. But what’s new is that this year these purely farmer vangs have received unexpected reinforcement with numerous references to authoritative Western sources. Not a day goes by without some American, British or, at worst, Polish media outlet breaking out the Kremlin’s secret plans - with links to sources close to the sources, about plans for an insidious attack on Independence Square.

Maps and diagrams of this very invasion with an exact indication of the number of military personnel and equipment concentrated in each direction roam the pages of Western newspapers. And the NYT warns that Russia is preparing cyber attacks on Ukraine's energy grid and government websites.

The most daring forecasters even indicate the exact dates of the supposed Russian Ordnung. From the latest, the British tabloid Daily Star stunned the venerable public with “reliable insider information” - according to this venerable publication, Russia plans to invade Ukraine on Christmas Eve, December 24th.

Someone might think that Putin decided to prevent Ukrainian Catholics from celebrating Christmas in this way. However, do not rush to conclusions: British Putin experts have come to the conclusion that Moscow decided to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the introduction of Soviet troops into Afghanistan in such an extravagant way. And Ukraine, as readers of Western newspapers already know, will cost the Kremlin much more than Afghanistan.

It seems that this thought even penetrated the demented head of Biden’s grandfather, who literally today found time in his busy schedule to think about Ukraine. According to sources at The Washington Post, “Biden is being studied on how to support Ukrainian partisans in the event of a Russian invasion.”

Let me tell you, this is a good joke about the partisans. Especially considering the fact that Kyiv military science fiction writers are seriously telling the gullible public that the “aggressor” will be met in Ukraine by the “new UPA.” True, where exactly the newest type of caches will be organized - on the forest-steppe plain of central Ukraine or in the dense urban areas of the megacities of eastern Ukraine - is kept silent. Probably out of modesty. But helpful sociologists throw up the results of surveys, according to which almost 80 percent of conscious citizens are ready to stand under the gun “if the black force comes.”

In general, if I were a Svidomo Ukrainian patriot, I would take the signal from Biden quite constructively. If you think about it carefully, this is a wonderful startup with an eye to fully distributing the money of American taxpayers.

See for yourself: we assemble a partisan detachment, carry out online registration of its members, send lists to American donors, and at Hour X we receive grants for food, uniforms and all that stuff. After all, how else to help the Ukrainian partisan movement if not with the good old dollar? Another classic asserted: don’t teach us how to live, but rather help us financially. The only “but” in this sketch of a startup on the knee: how to make sure that our partisan detachment is without a traitor? Otherwise, no matter the hour, it will turn out that Biden’s money will go to the numerous “hands of Moscow” who have crept into the friendly ranks of chrono-patriots.

But, however, if you really think about it, this idea I just expressed is also not new. I remember that in 2014, the most popular startup in Nenka was the creation of volunteer battalions. You find about three dozen scumbags, and go ahead and collect money for armored vehicles, drones and other extremely important and necessary things in the household. Many cunning guys, by the way, rose well from this. Semyon Semenchenko will not let you lie.

Meanwhile, military hysteria is military hysteria, and the level of discipline in the ranks is depressing. Think for yourself: there are three days left before the invasion, and where are the lines at the recruiting stations? Judging by the Kyiv media, Ukrainians, instead of preparing for either a heroic defense or an equally heroic escape, are busy with some kind of nonsense.

Thus, the ex-head of Zelensky’s office, Andrei Bogdan, in an interview with Akhmetov’s journalist Vlaschenko, shocked the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth with the statement that his former boss had lost vital energy. began to forget words and slowly puts phrases into sentences. And the company that built the Holodomor Museum received a contract for the construction of the Museum of the “Revolution of Dignity.” This is not to mention the world’s largest rushnik of dumplings, laid out last week by Lviv startup enthusiasts.

Oh, that’s not what a nation is doing at an hour when an ominous shadow of threat hangs over it.
