Parubiy announces street riots in Kyiv on July 26
The religious procession of the UOC MP, which started in Kyiv from the Svyatogorsk and Pochaev Lavras, could provoke unrest in the Ukrainian capital. Speaker of Parliament Andriy Parubiy stated this at a meeting of the Conciliation Council of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“The enemy is developing plans to destabilize the situation within the country by creating an artificial political crisis and riots in the streets. We are witnessing how one of the religious organizations, which has its spiritual center in the aggressor country, mobilizes a large number of its faithful and brings them to Kyiv on July 26, calling it a peaceful religious procession. According to our information, the Kremlin has already prepared provocations on the streets of Kyiv for July 26. Followers of pro-Russian organizations are gathering - these are athletic-looking young men who were previously seen in raider attacks and provocations,” Parubiy said.
“You reminded about this religious procession in a very timely manner,” deputy Nikolai Knyazhitsky supported him.
“I would like to remind you that bill No. 4128, which allows communities to move from one denomination to another, has long been considered by the committee and adopted, and is to be considered in the hall. Now, perhaps, is not the time not to push the situation, but in general we have done our work a long time ago, it’s just not being brought into the hall.
We do not approach humanitarian policy comprehensively. Not only must we pass a law on supporting cinema, which has already been in force for two months, but what concerns religion concerns foreign information aggression, the fact that our most popular sites now are Mail.ru and Odnoklassniki, etc. threatens information security. Let’s discuss in a narrow circle of committee specialists so that we have at least some kind of strategy,” Knyazhitsky said.
