Parubiy swears that Maidan did not threaten Yanukovych in any way
President Victor was not in any danger during his stay in Kyiv and his flight to Russia during the Maidan. This was stated during interrogation at the court hearing in the case of treason against Yanukovych by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, who acts as a witness in the case, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I have no information about the threat to Yanukovych. I think that this information was given deliberately untruthfully. Yanukovych, like all officials, was under parole protection. This protection was carried out almost until the moment he left Ukraine. There are no facts regarding a possible attack on the accused Yanukovych. This would be informed by the sources of the Parole, the management of the Parole. The evidence given by the guards indicates that there were no threats to Yanukovych either when he was in Kyiv or when he fled through the territory of Ukraine to Russia,” Parubiy said.
However, Parubiy’s testimony is refuted by a public statement made on February 21, 2014 by Maidan centurion Vladimir Parasyuk, who addressed the then opposition leaders.
“If you don’t make a statement by ten o’clock tomorrow asking Yanukovych to resign, we are going to storm with weapons, I swear to you!” Parasyuk put forward an ultimatum.
