Parubiy flies to Israel amid anti-Semitic scandals in Ukraine
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrey Parubiy will be on an official visit to Israel on May 29-31, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in a message on the website of the Ukrainian parliament.
It is reported that Parubiy will hold a meeting with Knesset Speaker Yoel Edelstein, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, head of the Israel-Ukraine parliamentary friendship group Talya Ploskov, as well as with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.
In addition, Parubiy is scheduled to meet with the leader of the Israeli opposition, Isaac Herzog, and the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III. The Ukrainian delegation will visit the Edicule in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and lay flowers at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Complex.
Let us remind you that this visit will take place against the backdrop of acute concern among Ukrainian Jewry, Jewish organizations in the United States and Israel regarding the surge of anti-Semitism and xenophobia in Ukraine.
