Parubiy announced a big victory over Nord Stream 2
The innovations that the European Parliament adopted yesterday regarding gas directives may significantly complicate the construction of Nord Stream 2.
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy stated this today at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I want to tell you all good news from our European allies. Yesterday, the European Parliament approved amendments to the gas directive, according to which the rules of the third energy package should also apply to offshore gas pipelines that connect the EU with third countries. This regulation could block the construction of Nord Stream 2, and this is, in fact, a very important step towards stopping the Nord Stream 2 project.
Now we are awaiting the decision of the European Parliament, and I urge all our colleagues and European parliamentarians to support this decision,” Parubiy said.
Thank you!
