Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy congratulated the deputies on the Armed Forces Day celebrated today in Ukraine, comparing the modern Ukrainian army with its predecessors from the one-day puppet state of the UPR.

“It is symbolic that the day of our Armed Forces is celebrated on the sixth of December, the day the legendary operation of the UPR army began - the first winter campaign of 1919-1920. During this heroic raid behind the rear of three enemy armies, which lasted four months, the UPR army fulfilled its combat mission with honor,” Parubiy said, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
